Gardening…Through Art

Hello! I am back with another art post…after what seemed to be an eternity!

I absolutely love succulents and mini succulent gardens! But, let’s just say I don’t exactly have a green thumb (even with the most hardy, easy to grow plants) so I decided to pour my love for these greens into an art piece!

I also had to include a little Totoro garden gnome clay thing (if you are not familiar with what a Totoro is, it is from the Studio Ghibli movie My Neighbor Totoro)!

Art process wise: It was the first time I decided to decide my color palette before hand vs just going with the flow as I create the piece. It was also the first time I decided to use blending modes to unify my color palette together. Overall, I learned a lot about choosing cohesive colors and how to make them all work together better than what I used to know and do. So, I’m pretty pleased with the increase in my artistic knowledge through this piece as well as with the outcome of the artwork itself! (It looks pretty cool to me)

Do you like succulents and have a succulent or a succulent garden?

Peace ^.^
