Draw This In Your Style Challenge: A Compilation

Hello, friend!

If you are in the art community, I’m sure you have heard of the “draw this in your style” challenge!

If not, basically, an artist posts a piece of artwork, usually featuring some sort of character. Then, you have to redraw the artwork in your own art style (or rather, how you would draw the same piece of work) and post it to social media with the original artwork and any special hashtags as given by the original artist (if none, #dtiys and #drawthisinyourstyle are defaults)!

I find this challenge to be really fun and a test on my limits! It really pushes you out of your comfort zone and you tend to pick up on little skills along the way as you try and replicate the artwork into your style.

Here are all the artworks for this challenge that I’ve taken part in so far on Instagram (most recent to my very first one!):

I Made A Tag For My Personal Project!

Hello, hello!

I finally made a tag for my ongoing personal project, titled Kanakkhi and Co.!

I’m hoping to use this tag to update and keep a record of the progress I make on this project (it’s a big one with lots of little chunks).

Expect to find anything from project status, character bios and doodles to concept art and random illustrations (self-made fan art I guess?) of my original characters and the world they live in!

Peace ^.^

P.S. I also have a webpage dedicated to this project where I will upload cleaner versions of any related art and content (guess that’ll be the official “canon” information!)

Lord Dhanvantari – God of Healing and Medicine

Form of Lord Narayana taken to heal all bodily and spiritual ailments

May Lord Dhanvantari, the form Lord Narayana has taken to heal and remove illnesses of our body and mind, He who glows like the sun and who’s eyes are long and beautiful like the lotus petals, protect us during these times of pandemics and on a regular basis so that we may be fit to serve the Lord and perform good deeds in our daily lives || In His hand, He carries the Amrita Kalasa (pot of healing nectar) to impart onto those who are suffering from bodily and spiritual ailments. May the Lord, Shri Dhanvantari, bring peace to the afflicted inhabitants of Mother Earth. Hare Rama…Hare Krishna…

Below are chants found in the sacred texts that help with getting rid of illnesses, bad luck and any afflictions that may come to the physical body and the spiritual soul and mind:

Mindfulness & Escaping with Music

Hello, friend!

I hope this post finds you and your loved ones are well and healthy in these rather dull and dark times.

Music has always helped me overcome any light depression and anxiety I may face on any given day. I love listening to bhajans (devotional music) and instrumentals! Upbeat tunes are a staple for me with some nice, slow paced music in between.

Bhajan Mandal ft. my OCs (left to right) Chandrasekar, Damodar and Yashodhara 🙂

It’s just really nice to sit back and let your thoughts just flow as you maintain mindfulness by coming back to the music whenever the thoughts go astray or into unpleasant territories. To dance away or to just sit and breathe with the song’s rhythm….

What kind of songs do you like to listen to? And where do you listen to them from (i.e. YouTube, Spotify, etc.)?

I thought I’d share some of my favorite songs with you below! (I mainly use YouTube to create my song playlists)

(Note: I’ll try my best to update these links as much as possible to keep them working! Also, I’m not sponsored or affiliated with any of the artists/ groups whose song’s I’m listing below!)

Artist: Krishna Das; Song: Govinda Hare

New Years and January of practically every year are resolution setting times. And if you are anything like me, I hate resolutions ever since I found out that everyone hypes you up to do it…but not how to do it.

Writing down big ideas and goals are cool but how are you gonna achieve it, bruh? Like, what’s the game plan detail?
